Market Collective, Metawa Armoury, Calgary, July 19-21

In a couple of weeks I will be heading down to Calgary to attend the Market Collective 5 year anniversary party, and what a party it is going to be! It will be at the lovely old Metawa Armoury building in downtown Calgary and will include music, a pop-up farmers market, an awesome collection of market collective vendors, and more!

With all the attention on Calgary since the flood, it’s hard not to feel excited about going there and contributing in my own small way to help the city get back on it’s feet again. So, in honour of those thoughts, I will be making a special flood relief item for selling with the rest of my handmade soaps and skincare. It’s a secret…, so I can’t tell you any more details, but I promise to donate all the proceeds from the sale of that item to the Flood Relief effort fund. Sound good or what?

I’ve always had a soft spot for Calgary and definitely enjoy visiting there. I know Edmonton and Calgary are supposed to have this big rivalry, but when it comes down to it, the cities are siblings. a bit of rivalry for sure, but when the going gets tough, you can always count on each other to help out when you most need it. See you soon!

Market Collective. I’ve you have never been, you should definitely check this out. The show usually runs once per month, but in preparation for Christmas, it is running 3 times this month with a complete new line-up of artists each weekend. That means Calgarians, you have a whole LOT of handmade artisans to choose from over the month to find some unique gifts for family and friends.I am so excited that this great group scored a new venue and it’s an old Ferrari dealership. sweet or what?

I’ll have a wide array of items that make excellent gifts, stocking stuffers, and I can even package some items up for you to make a gift bag. Here are some sneak peaks of products I will be bringing down with me to the Market Collective. I will also be bringing a few products especially for the men on your list such as:

  • Shaving kit (mug, boar bristle brush, shaving soap, cloth bag)
  • ‘Tame your Tiger’ Moustache wax
  • ‘Oh My Guinness Beer & Oats’ Soap
  • and more!

Market Collective, Calgary, Alberta, March17 &18

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to announce that I got selected to be in the Market Collective event in Calgary the weekend of March 17 and 18. St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Perhaps you will find some lucky deals or a clover or two!

In case you haven’t been before, Market Collective is a 2 day affair of crafty-arty goodness! Come and meet local Albertan designers, crafters, artists, musicians, etc. who make, create and design handmade items from clothing to photography to soap and to jewellery, etc. It’s a great way to support local artisans, get ideas for projects, and connect with the handmade community.

I’ve been busy in my studio these past couple of weeks and will be up until the event, to bring you new items I have been working on, such as felted dryer balls, felted soaps, new hand creams, lip butters, soaps, soapnut products, such as my popular laundry detergent, gentle warrior yoga mat spray, veggie wash, and more!

Not only are these events great for supporters of handmade, they are great for the artists themselves, giving us a venue to connect with others, share tips, tricks, and get ideas for each other. I’m looking forward to going to down to partake, so if you live in Calgary come on by!

The information on where and when to find this great event, is in the poster on the right. Hope to see you there!
